St Bees Head RSPB reserve - 22/04/2021
Distance: 8km; Ascent 340m; Time 3h; Driving time from Smithy House 1h20m
St Bees Head is a nice there and back coastal walk from St Bees - starting from the beach car park. The main avian attraction in the breeding seabird colony. This is the only English site where Black Guillemot breed (they are much more widespread on the Scottish coast). The main breeding season is May to July - so we were a little early, but we still managed to see all the breeding species except Kittiwake.
