Glenridding Dodd (434m) - 30/12/2021
Distance: 4km; Ascent: 300m; Time: 2h
We did this walk with our son and grandson (Ben and Toby), daughter and her partner (Emma and Elliott). We parked in the Glenridding car park and followed the path to the Greenside Road. The path to Glenridding Dodd is now on the west side of Blaes Crag (the marked path on the east side side of Blaes Crag is no longer accessible). The path is good but steep. At the col there is a wall with a gate crossing the path - to reach the summit turn right just before this wall. You can descend the same way, but we made a circuit of it by descending along Mossdale Beck - this was somewhat tricky with lots of steep slippery mud and fallen trees to negotiate. Once down it is a short walk along the lake shore to get back to the car park - in our case via a pint and lunch at the Glenridding Hotel.
