Crinkle Crags (858m) - 14/05/2022
Distance: 13km; Ascent: ~800m; Time: 6h
Unfortunately by the time we arrived in the Langdales the car park at the end of the road was full, so we had an extra km each way to walk along the road - and felt lucky to have found the space we did park in. We did this on a glorious spring day with my sister and brother-in-law - Claire and Nigel. The Band provides a nice ascent to the ridge. The ridge is rocky and undulating with great views of Bow Fell and the Langdale Pikes. Descending from the summit of Crinkle Crags it is best to retrace your steps a little to find a path to the east of the summit - we followed the more direct path and found an impassable (to us at least) scramble - and had to retrace our steps from there. The descent passes Great Knott and then turns left (north) at Red Tarn to eventually rejoin the ascent path.
